Recap: Thompson vs. Richland
Thompson won the last time they faced Richland, and things went their way on Friday, too. Thompson snuck past Richland with a 40-35 win. 40 seems to be a good number for Thompson as the squad scooped up a win with the same point total in their previous game.
Thompson's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 22 points in the first half. Richland came up with 21 to make it 22-21 heading into the break. The offense for Thompson continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 18 points to put the game away.
Senior Cadyn Schwabe, who rushed for 151 yards and 5 touchdowns, was a major factor in Thompson's success. Senior Marcus Hughes also helped out with an impressive 100 receiving yards in the victory. The win bumped Thompson's record up to 4-0. The defeat dropped Richland's record to 3-1.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Thompson take on Hankinson at 7:00 PM. Hankinson will need to watch out since Hankinson have now posted big point totals in their last 4 contests. Richland are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Wyndmere/Lidgerwood at 7:00 PM.
