Baseball Recap: Austin Xu Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Homestead

While Mountain View's win against Homestead wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Friday. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Jaeden Pietrofeso's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mountain View's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Austin Xu, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
