Basketball Recap: 24 Straight Home Wins for Providence School

Providence School had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They breezed past the University Christian Christians to the tune of 71-21 on Thursday. The Stallions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 22 points or more this season.

Providence School was led to victory by Janie Boyd and Kasey Davey. Boyd went 7 for 11 en route to 18 points and five steals, while Davey dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards. Boyd's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Janai Jordan was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.

Providence School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive games.

Providence School pushed their record up to 19-6 with the victory, which was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points over those games. As for University Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Providence School has already played their next contest, a 60-39 win against San Jose Prep on the 8th. University Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
