Baseball Recap: Mount View Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four contests, Mount View finally came back down to earth on Monday. They fell just short of the Greenbrier West Cavaliers by a score of 3-2. The Golden Knights haven't had much luck with the Cavaliers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Kyrece Hughes was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 12 times he's played.

Mount View's loss dropped their record down to 13-8-1. As for Greenbrier West, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-14 record.

Mount View does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greenbrier West, they will face off against Greater Beckley Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Crusaders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something the Cavaliers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
