Basketball Game Preview: Victory Christian Academy Storm vs. Tampa Bay Tech Titans

Two dominant guards in Bianca Barroso and Milaya Chapman are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Victory Christian Academy Storm will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tampa Bay Tech Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Victory Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Victory Christian Academy lost to Trinity Catholic on the road by a 58-43 margin. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Celtics are ranked 66th).

Victory Christian Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Barroso, who went 7 of 14 en route to 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals, and Jade Grier, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 15 points and five boards. Barroso is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played.

Meanwhile, Tampa Bay Tech unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were beaten by Steinbrenner 62-20. The game marked the Titans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Tampa Bay Tech's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Victory Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.
