Baseball Game Preview: Humboldt Wildcats vs. Hampton-Dumont/CAL

Humboldt is a perfect 4-0 against Hampton-Dumont/CAL since May of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge Hampton-Dumont/CAL at 7:30 p.m. Hampton-Dumont/CAL took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Humboldt, who comes in off a win.

Humboldt took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past Newell-Fonda 3-2.

Meanwhile, Hampton-Dumont/CAL was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 13-1 to North Polk.

Humboldt's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.2 runs. As for Hampton-Dumont/CAL, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Humboldt was able to grind out a solid victory over Hampton-Dumont/CAL in their previous meeting back in June of 2024, winning 7-3. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do Hampton-Dumont/CAL have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
