Basketball Game Preview: Ottawa-Glandorf Titans vs. Shelby Whippets

The Ottawa-Glandorf Titans will venture away from home to face off against the Shelby Whippets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Ottawa-Glandorf didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Archbold, but they still walked away with a 51-47 win. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Blue Streaks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Shelby waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 64-54 win over the Spartans. Given the Whippets' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Spartans are ranked 499th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Shelby's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points over those games. As for Ottawa-Glandorf, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.

Ottawa-Glandorf didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Shelby when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 67-63 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ottawa-Glandorf since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
