Dallas took a 16-run defeat the last time they faced off against Tunkhannock, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mountaineers skirted past the Tigers 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mountaineers have posted since May 3, 2024.

NINA BARROUK was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, SYDNEY HAYDU was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. CAITLYN MIZZER was another key player, earning two runs and two stolen bases.

Dallas now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Tunkhannock, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Coming up, Dallas will venture away from home to square off against Northwest Area at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Tunkhannock, they will host Mid Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
