Baseball Recap: Moriah Vikings vs. Chazy Eagles

Moriah's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Chazy Eagles. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Joe Pelkey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on 12 hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Moriah will square off against Peru at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Nighthawks will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chazy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bolton Central at 6:00 p.m. on the 30th.
