Rye Neck extended their winning streak to five on Wednesday, bumping them up to 10-8. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Blind Brook Trojans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-2 on Monday.

Davey Ryan made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Ryan was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Ryan wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ben Gellman, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Blind Brook, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-5. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs.

On Blind Brook's side, Asher Toll was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Toll has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bennett Cuesta made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
