Baseball Recap: Nooksack Valley Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Nooksack Valley's offense. They fell just short of the Burlington-Edison Tigers by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The Pioneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Crew Bauman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Nooksack Valley is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4. As for Burlington-Edison, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Nooksack Valley is set to take on their familiar foe Mt. Baker at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Burlington-Edison will face off against rival Sedro-Woolley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
