Baseball Game Preview: Durand/Pecatonica Rivermen vs. Jefferson J-Hawks

The Durand/Pecatonica Rivermen will head out to square off against the Jefferson J-Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Durand/Pecatonica has given up an average of 9.5 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Durand/Pecatonica after they put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Forreston, falling 11-3. The Rivermen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Winnebago.

Jefferson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Bauer, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Durand/Pecatonica's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Durand/Pecatonica beat Jefferson 14-10 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rivermen since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
