Lordsburg had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Mescalero Apache Chiefs a 15-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-0 on Saturday.

The team relied heavily on Eva Trujillo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dani Esquivel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.

Lordsburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .808. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lordsburg's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.9 runs over those games. As for Mescalero Apache, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lordsburg beat the Chiefs by a score of 17-1 later that day.
