Basketball Game Preview: Sierra Lutheran Falcons vs. Oasis Academy Bighorns

The Sierra Lutheran Falcons just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Oasis Academy Bighorns at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sierra Lutheran's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three matches, but Saturday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sierra Lutheran is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Pershing County on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Sierra Lutheran took a blow against Pershing County, falling 62-17. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-13.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oasis Academy). They enjoyed a cozy 49-31 victory over Incline on Wednesday. The Bighorns haven't had any issues with the Highlanders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Sierra Lutheran better keep an eye on Grace Laca. She was instrumental in Oasis Academy's win, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most points Laca has posted since back in December of 2023. Emma Lewis was another key player, putting up seven points along with six boards and three steals.

Oasis Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Sierra Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.
