            Softball Recap: Hazel Park Vikings vs. Clawson Trojans        
        
		
        
        
            Hazel Park was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They lost  13-7 to the Clawson Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the  13-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April of 2024.
 Madison Platt (2027) was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she  struck out seven batters over  seven innings while giving up  six earned  (and seven unearned) runs off   nine  hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and one  triple.

 In other batting news,  Lillian Griffiths (2027) made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-3 with five  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  RBI. She is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  snagged two or more in each of the last five games she's  played.  La'Onna Otis (2027) was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
Hazel Park's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Clawson, the  victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Trojans beat Hazel Park by a score of  14-8 later that day.
