Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newbury Park). They were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over the Santa Paula Cardinals on Monday. Considering the Panthers have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Lily Johnson was incredible, firing off two triples, five RBI, and three runs while going 5-for-5. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Elena Melgoza was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Newbury Park hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Santa Paula struck out nine times.

Newbury Park's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-9. As for Santa Paula, they moved to 7-9 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Newbury Park has already played their next contest, an 11-1 win against Nordhoff on the 15th. As for Santa Paula, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-4 loss against Faith Baptist on the 22nd.
