Baseball Game Preview: Hopewell Valley Central Bulldogs vs. Colts Neck Cougars

The Hopewell Valley Central Bulldogs will face off against the Colts Neck Cougars at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Hopewell Valley Central blew Notre Dame out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Notre Dame got their revenge. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Irish by a score of 3-1. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hopewell Valley Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Yadamiec, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base was Yadamiec's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Colts Neck strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against Monmouth Regional by a score of 7-4.

Nick Hayden looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Colts Neck got a big performance out of John Glusko, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Ronan Kiely was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Hopewell Valley Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4-1. As for Colts Neck, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
