Basketball Game Preview: Ocosta Wildcats vs. Almira-Coulee-Hartline Warriors

The Ocosta Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Almira-Coulee-Hartline Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ocosta is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.1 points per game this season.

Last Saturday, Ocosta didn't have quite enough to beat Willapa Valley and fell 46-44.

Despite the loss, Ocosta saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sonny Beard dropped a double-double with 15 points and 19 boards. Beard is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in each of the last six games he's played. Kayden Turner was another key player, to rack up 14 points.

Meanwhile, Almira-Coulee-Hartline had already won 18 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.2 points) and they went ahead and made it 19 on Saturday. They walked away with a 61-50 win over the Irish.

Almira-Coulee-Hartline pushed their record up to 22-1 with the victory, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Ocosta, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-7.
