Volleyball Recap: Brownell Talbot Takes a Loss

Brownell Talbot lost against Yutan back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Raiders fell just short of the Chieftains by a score of 2-1. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Brownell Talbot sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 23-25, 25-15.

Quinn Iverson paced Brownell Talbot's offense, picking up 11 kills. Iverson got some help from Becky Hoban and her 18 assists.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Yutan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Morgan Long, who had 24 assists and five aces. That's the most assists Long has posted over her last seven matches. Allison Kirchmann was another key player, getting 15 digs.

Brownell Talbot's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Yutan, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Brownell Talbot has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Boys Town on the 11th. As for Yutan, they will host Raymond Central on Tuesday.
