Softball Recap: Pitman's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Pitman not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 1st. They blew past the Downey Knights 13-4. This was a revenge game for the Pride: when they faced off against the Knights back in March, they had to take a 12-11 loss.

Elyssa Alcazar looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tatiana Rios was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Kaylee Fuller also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Pitman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Pitman's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-10. As for Downey, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-20.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pitman will take on Gregori at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Downey, they will face off against Enochs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last eight games.
