Baseball Game Preview: Arrowhead Warhawks vs. Sun Prairie West Wolves

The Arrowhead Warhawks will head out to face off against the Sun Prairie West Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Arrowhead is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Arrowhead is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wisconsin's top teams: Whitnall, who was ranked 18th at the time (Arrowhead was ranked third). The Warhawks had just enough and edged out the Falcons 6-5 on Thursday.

Cam Carter was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Finley Birkenstock looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on PJ Hamel, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one triple, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Niko Frongopoulos also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, Sun Prairie West got the win against Madison East on Thursday by a conclusive 9-3. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Purgolders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Arrowhead's record is now 13-5. As for Sun Prairie West, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
