Soccer Recap: Graham's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Graham fought the good fight in their overtime game against Galax on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Maroon Tide by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, Graham's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

With the loss, Graham broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2-2. As for Galax, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2-1.

Graham and Galax should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The G-Men (ranked 36th) will meet Richlands (ranked 256th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Galax will face off against Fort Chiswell at 7:15 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (30 vs. 129).
