After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Everglades, Taravella was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Piper Bengals. The game was the first time the Trojans have beaten the Bengals on their court since September 4, 2019.

The win didn't come easy: Piper scored at least 21 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 25-21.

Taravella found their leader in freshman Daniela Guarin, who had 15 digs and two aces. Makayla Smith also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Taravella was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 24 aces. They served 13 more aces than Piper's also-impressive total of 11.

Taravella's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-7. As for Piper, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.

Taravella wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Hollywood Hills on the 29th. As for Piper, they have also already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Coral Springs on the 29th.
