Basketball Recap: Phoebus Takes a Loss

Phoebus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 68-52 to the Woodside Wolverines. While losing is never fun, the Phantoms can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Wolverines are ranked 48th).

Phoebus' defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Woodside, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Phoebus won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Warwick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Phantoms will be up against the Raiders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 68.94 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Woodside, they will face off against Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
