Baseball Recap: Racine Case Drops Season-High Score on Racine Lutheran/Prairie

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Racine Case). They walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Racine Lutheran/Prairie Crusaders on Monday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Jacob Haughton, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and one triple. Those seven RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caleb LaMartina, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

The victory got Racine Case back to even at 6-6. As for Racine Lutheran/Prairie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Racine Case will host Indian Trail at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Racine Lutheran/Prairie, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against St. Thomas More at 4:30 p.m. The Crusaders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cavaliers have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season.
