            Woodlawn and Goreville are an even 5-5 against one another  since January of 2016, but  not for long. The Woodlawn Cardinals will host the Goreville Blackcats  at 6:15  p.m.  on Monday. Woodlawn is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50  points per game  this season.
Woodlawn will head into Thursday's  game on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking three-point  defeat in their last  contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton  on Thursday.  Woodlawn's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Andrea Kibler, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on 16 points and nine  steals. Kibler has been hot, having  posted four or more  steals the last five times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Rylie Hockett, who  posted 14  points along with six  rebounds and six  steals.
 Meanwhile, Goreville came into Wednesday's   game having lost 18 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with  a   46-39  win over Eldorado  on Wednesday. The Blackcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  points they've scored all season.
 Woodlawn is  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record  this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Goreville, their  victory (their first of the  season) made their record 1-17.
