Basketball Recap: East Marshall Comes Up Short

East Marshall lost against Grundy Center back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The East Marshall Mustangs took a 72-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grundy Center Spartans.

East Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Grundy Center, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

East Marshall will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on South Tama County at 7:45 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Grundy Center also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Aplington-Parkersburg at 7:45 p.m. on January 3, 2025. One thing working in Aplington-Parkersburg's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
