Basketball Game Preview: Cherokee Trail Cougars vs. Vista PEAK Prep Bison

The Cherokee Trail Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Vista PEAK Prep Bison at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Saturday, Cherokee Trail ended up a good deal behind Regis Jesuit and lost 73-57. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Raiders are ranked tenth).

Nathan Baack put forth a good effort for the losing side as he went 7 for 12 on his way to 19 points. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Scott, who posted 12 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vista PEAK Prep). They snuck past Cherry Creek with a 73-68 win on Tuesday.

Vista PEAK Prep now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Cherokee Trail, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
