Donegal posted their closest win since April 23, 2024 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Conestoga Valley Buckskins. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Buckskins: they've now won five in a row.

Chase Gerz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 5.2 innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Devin Bailey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Shaun DiBello also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Donegal always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Conestoga Valley only posted an OBP of .267.

Donegal's record now sits at 3-4. As for Conestoga Valley, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Looking ahead, Donegal will take on Octorara Area at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. As for Conestoga Valley, they will face off against Elizabethtown at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bears' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Buckskins' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
