Basketball Recap: Northwest Takes a Loss

Northwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Newman Smith Trojans, falling 62-19. The matchup marked the Texans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

They used a three-pronged attack on offense: Evan Hall, Jarrett Questel, and Jeremiah Trancoso posted four points each.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Newman Smith, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

Looking ahead, Northwest will challenge North Forney at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. The Texans will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 60.71 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Newman Smith, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Eastern Hills at 7:00 p.m. on December 9.
