Monsignor Pace has gone a perfect 3-0 against Dr. Krop recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Monsignor Pace will welcome Dr. Krop at 6:30 p.m. Monsignor Pace's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Dr. Krop's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Last Thursday, Monsignor Pace beat Key West 8-5. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Conchs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Ricky Hernandez looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in February.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Robert Kramer, who went 3-for-5 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Darian Goris, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.
Monsignor Pace was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Key West only posted a batting average of .222.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dr. Krop). Everything went their way against Northwestern last Friday as Dr. Krop made off with a 20-1 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Lightning with their most commanding win of the season.
Lucas Rodriguez looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Dr. Krop got a massive performance out of Marco Loreto, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Loreto has become a key player for Dr. Krop: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-9 otherwise. Ryan Pena was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
The win made it two in a row for Dr. Krop and bumps their season record up to 5-9. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 13 hits in those games compared to only 5.5 in the others. As for Monsignor Pace, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
Monsignor Pace was able to grind out a solid win over Dr. Krop when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 8-5. Does Monsignor Pace have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dr. Krop turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
