Softball Recap: Aly Skrobis Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Burlington

Oak Creek barely beat Burlington the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights never let the Demons get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won four matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Rita Sippy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. Sippy was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Aly Skrobis was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Lyla Bray, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Oak Creek's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Burlington, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oak Creek will take on Taft in a tournament on Saturday. As for Burlington, they will welcome Westosha Central at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
