Softball Preview: Pinecrest Patriots vs. Cary Imps
The Pinecrest Patriots are taking a road trip to square off against the Cary Imps at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pinecrest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Pinecrest got a massive performance out of Emily Hatcher, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Hatcher a new career-high. Meanwhile, Cary was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They came up short against Middle Creek, falling 17-2.
Cary saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Shea, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. Alena Ferrara also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Pinecrest's victory bumped their record up to 5-15. As for Cary, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.
