Softball Game Preview: Woodbine Tigers vs. Glidden-Ralston Wildcats

The Woodbine Tigers will head out to take on the Glidden-Ralston Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Woodbine 3.8, Glidden-Ralston 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Woodbine's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Friday's struggle, when Missouri Valley hitters got past them. The Tigers lost 17-0 to the Big Reds on Friday. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Glidden-Ralston had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the Knights. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Glidden-Ralston's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Woodbine, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.

Everything went Woodbine's way against Glidden-Ralston in their previous meeting back in June of 2024, as Woodbine made off with a 9-0 win. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
