Softball Game Preview: Salem Tigers vs. Cabool Bulldogs

The Salem Tigers will challenge the Cabool Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Salem's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.

On Tuesday, Salem got the win against Dixon by a conclusive 20-9. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by six runs or more this season.

Alaina Norris was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Norris was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Reagan DuBois was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, eight RBI, and four runs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 3.4 RBI per game. Taylor Fulton was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Salem always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .574 or higher in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Cabool was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against Ava, falling 16-1.

Salem now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Cabool, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
