Softball Recap: Colton Falls to Dayton in First Game of Season

Colton kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Dayton Bulldogs by a score of 9-8. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Kiya Soza stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Mere Bell, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Dayton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Colton Wildcats challenge Asotin Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Colton is facing Asotin at the right time seeing as Asotin is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Dayton, they will head out on the road to take on Touchet at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
