Basketball Recap: Markayla Shirley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chandler over Casteel

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Chandler can now relate to. They took a 54-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Casteel Colts on Thursday. The Wolves' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it eight in a row.

Chandler's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Markayla Shirley, who posted 14 points and six assists. Kamdyn Hurd was another key player, putting up seven points and seven rebounds.

Chandler's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Casteel, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season.

Chandler does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Casteel, they will take on Sunnyside at 7:00 p.m. on February 27th.
