Basketball Game Preview: Clay County Panthers vs. Calhoun Red Devils

The Clay County Panthers will head out to square off against the Calhoun Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clay County has given up an average of 57.8 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 64-36, which was the final score in Clay County's tilt against Braxton County on Friday. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Calhoun was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They fell 82-70 to Wirt County. On the bright side, the 70- point performance marked the Red Devils' highest-scoring game to date.

Clay County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Calhoun, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Clay County came up short against Calhoun when the teams last played back in February of 2025, falling 57-51. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
