The Rock came tearing into Monday's matchup with nine straight wins dating back to last season, and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 win over The Villages Charter Buffalo. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The Rock had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-15.

The Rock's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for The Villages Charter, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coincidentally, The Rock and The Villages Charter will both be playing Forest the next time they take the court. The Lions will head out to face the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Buffalo will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
