Basketball Recap: Sealy Takes Down Giddings in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sealy had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Giddings Buffaloes 73-41. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Sealy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Washington, who almost dropped a triple-double with 21 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists. Those 13 boards gave Washington a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kallan Hendry, who went 8-for-17 to rack up 24 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Sealy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points over those games. Giddings' defeat dropped their record down to 6-17.

Coming up, Sealy will host Lorena at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sealy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. Giddings does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
