Volleyball Recap: River's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

River not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since August 18th (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against the Frontier Cougars as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Pilots as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 28-26, 27-25.

Hallie Hammel paced River's offense, picking up 13 kills. Hammel got some help from Maci Isaly and her 18 assists. Karly Showalter controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Despite the loss, Frontier still got an impressive performance from Kenzie Livingston, who had 32 digs. With that strong performance, Livingston is now averaging an impressive 11.2 digs per game.

River's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Frontier, they now also have a losing record of 4-5.

River has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Monroe Central on the 8th. Frontier has also already played their next game (against Bridgeport), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
