Baseball Recap: Timpview Takes a Loss

Timpview extended their losing streak to ten on Thursday, dropping them down to 7-16. They lost 11-1 to the Springville Red Devils. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 3, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Timpview saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Anderson, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

As for Springville, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-14. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 6th (when they won 15-0).

On Springville's side, they got a great performance from Jacob Mayo as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Mayo has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hugh Redd was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kyler Hughes, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Timpview will welcome Pleasant Grove at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
