The biggest upset of the week belonged to Upper Dauphin Area, who took down 495th ranked Newport, 22-21. Austin Weaver threw for 31 yards and ran for 119 yards in the win.
Austin Bennett and Chad Eberle provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Line Mountain. The longest such play in Tri-Valley this season, the connection resulted in 139 yards.
East Juniata's dynamic duo of Bennett and Logan Hambright proved tough for the Eagles to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Bennett threw for 156 yards and one touchdown and Hambright had 76 yards receiving. David Brantley helped East Juniata's passing attack out by catching three balls for 25 yards.
Josh Howard was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 23 carries, he ran for 243 yards as Millersburg fell to Line Mountain. Travis Lamereaux also contributed to the rushing game with 236 yards on the ground.
Williams Valley's Stephen Sedesse and Owen Daniel have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Sedesse has thrown for 1099 yards this season, while Daniel, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 32 catches for 602 yards. Neil Bodley from Juniata leads the league in rushing with 1108 yards.
Two of the top units in Tri-Valley will face off this week when the Indians take on the Vikings. Juniata's offense has racked up 250 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Williams Valley has allowed only 47 on the year.
Cole Barnhardt of the Tim Savage's team is only 93 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Barnhardt has rushed for 907 yards on 121 carries so far this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Vikings take on the Indians. Williams Valley is currently in first, while Juniata is in fifth.
There should be lots of points scored when the Vikings and the Indians face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Williams Valley comes in having scored 238 this season, while Juniata has scored 250. The Vikings scored 14 points last week as they beat Tri-Valley.
The Bulldogs moved up to 212 from 251 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Tri-Valley climbed the ranks as a result of losing to Williams Valley 14-12.
