Preview: Valley Vikings vs. Navajo Prep Eagles
The Valley Vikings will be home for the holidays to greet the Navajo Prep Eagles at 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 38-36 victory over Artesia. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Valley has scored all season.
Valley had a senior duo take command as Rosendo Roybal scored 15 points and Julian Chavez scored 11 points along with three steals. Roybal continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played.
Meanwhile, Navajo Prep put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 59-43 victory over Rehoboth Christian.
Valley pushed their record up to 5-3 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Navajo Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
