Baseball Recap: Ridgewood Rebels vs. Latin Romans

Ridgewood won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 9-2 loss at the hands of the Latin Romans. Ridgewood was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Latin apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2016.

Jerry O'Reilly made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI.

On Latin's side, Drew Lufrano made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Lufrano was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Ashton Seymore was excellent, going 1-for-3 with four RBI and a double. Noah Katz was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Ridgewood's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Latin, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with that victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Ridgewood will square off against Elmwood Park at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ridgewood is facing Elmwood Park at the right time seeing as Elmwood Park is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Latin, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against St. Edward at 12:00 p.m.
