Softball Game Preview: New Lothrop Hornets vs. Powers Catholic Chargers

The New Lothrop Hornets will head out on the road to take on the Powers Catholic Chargers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Powers Catholic took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on New Lothrop, who comes in off a win.

New Lothrop's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Durand with a sharp 12-0 win. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by ten runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Powers Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against Grand Blanc, falling 11-0.

New Lothrop's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Powers Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.
