Baseball Recap: Kermit Takes a Loss

Kermit entered their game against Alpine on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Yellow Jackets fell just short of the Bucks by a score of 3-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellow Jackets of the 8-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Zakry Salais spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

Kermit now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Alpine, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kermit will challenge Tornillo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets are facing the Coyotes at the right time seeing as the Coyotes are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Alpine, they will host Anthony at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bucks will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
