Baseball Recap: Good Hope Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Good Hope waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 13-10 win over the Winston County Yellowjackets. This was payback for the Raiders, who suffered a 6-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Parker Johnson and Brady Stripling did most of the damage at the plate: Johnson went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Stripling scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Stripling a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Colbi Kilpatrick, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Good Hope's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Winston County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Good Hope will square off against Madison County at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Winston County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
