Baseball Recap: Capistrano Valley's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Capistrano Valley can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the El Toro Chargers. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Chargers on Tuesday, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Capistrano Valley got a great performance from Charlie Fuller as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Fuller a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Kosewick, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Micallef, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Capistrano Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as El Toro only posted a batting average of .192.

Capistrano Valley's record now sits at 10-12-1. As for El Toro, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-10.

Capistrano Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chargers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
