Basketball Recap: Lafayette Central Catholic Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Lafayette Central Catholic entered their matchup against McCutcheon on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Lafayette Central Catholic Knights fell to the McCutcheon Mavericks 44-39. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mavericks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Lafayette Central Catholic still got an impressive performance from Ray Clayton, who posted 13 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Seaburg, who had eight points.

Brody Baker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for McCutcheon, going 6 for 13 en route to 19 points and seven assists. Another player making a difference was Gavin Pritzel, who earned seven points and 14 rebounds.

Lafayette Central Catholic's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-5. As for McCutcheon, they now also have a winning record of 6-5.

Lafayette Central Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-44 loss against Benton Central on the 17th. McCutcheon has also already played their next game, a 68-41 victory against Logansport on the 17th.
